Duct / Dryer Vent / Galley Vent Hood Cleaning

OAR Specialized Services is a member of National Air Duct Cleaners Association (NADCA) and Indoor Air Quality Association (IAQA). We have several certified Air System Cleaning Specialists (ASCS) and Ventilation System Mold Remediators (VSMR) on staff.

All work will be performed in accordance with the current NADCA Standard for Assessment, Cleaning, and Restoration of HVAC Systems & incorporates EPA and IAQA guidelines.

HVAC Duct Work:

OAR Specialized Services will remove visible surface contaminants and deposits from within the HVAC system. The HVAC system includes any interior surface of the facility’s air distribution system for conditioned spaces and/or occupied zones. OAR’s service exceeds the basic scope of other companies who may only clean ducts and grilles. We address the entire heating, air-conditioning, ventilation and exhaust system from where air enters the system to the point where air is discharged from the system. Our project team will include a trained HVAC service technician to ensure the air handler, coils, blower wheel, motors, and variable air volume terminals are properly cleaned and operating efficiently.

The HVAC system will be cleaned using two key elements for removal of contaminants safely from within the HVAC system. The first key element is a means of agitating the dust and debris. The second element is the extraction of contaminants from the HVAC system. Engineering controls will be established to prevent cross migration of particulate. Ducts are accessed through existing service openings or fabricated openings. HEPA filtered contact vacuuming is combined with aggressive cleaning methods using air whips, air sweeps, pneumatic driven brushes and cable driven brushes.

After the system has been cleaned, an EPA registered fungicidal protective coating can be applied to the interior of duct system to control microbial growth. An eco-friendly and safe disinfecting biocide can be applied with an Ultra-Low Volume (ULV) fogger into the ventilation system to aid with removal of virus, bacteria, fungi and spores. We also can provide guidance on proper application of Ultraviolet Germicidal Irradiation (UVGI) systems to improve indoor air quality for occupants by reducing airborne biological contaminates and toxic VOCs.

Dryer Exhaust Vent:

A clean, unobstructed dryer exhaust duct system improves operating efficiency of the dryer appliance. As the dryer operates, moisture and lint by-products accumulate in the ductwork. This buildup leads to an increase in the amount of time it takes to dry clothing. Several factors can contribute to lint accumulation or restrictions such as extended ductwork runs, restricted ducts, crushed or kinked flexible transition and condensation accumulations within duct due to non-insulated ducts traveling through cold spaces. The dryer can overheat and in some cases result in a fire within the dryer appliance or within the dryer exhaust duct system. OAR Specialized Services will clean the dryer duct vent using HEPA filtered negative air machines and aggressive cleaning methods such as air whips, rotating brushes and air blow guns.

Galley Vent Hood:

The galley vent hood is responsible for exhausting heat and fumes outside so the galley remains a safe and pleasant place for your employees to work. Failure to keep on top of regular vent hood inspections and cleaning could put employees and your galley equipment at risk, or even subject to violation. Our vent hood, duct, and exhaust fan cleaning methodology integrates ANSI/IKECA C10-2011 standard for cleaning of commercial kitchen exhaust systems to keep you in compliance with NFPA 96 standards. Our services include but are not limited to:

  • Cleaning of interior and exterior of galley vent hoods
  • Grease removal from the hood and exhaust systems
  • Filter replacement and removal
  • Cleaning of all accessible areas of exhaust duct work
  • Exhaust fan maintenance
  • Grease trap interceptor cleaning
